There are some great camping options near the festival. The main campsite we suggest using is Barracks Farm Campsite.

Barracks Farm Camping and Caravanning Site

There will be a free shuttlebus between the festival site and Barracks Farm Campsite, which will run hourly throughout Friday and Saturday, and a limited run on Sunday morning to local bus stops. Details of the shuttlebus schedule will be updated on this page shortly before the festival

Campsites Within Walking Distance

There are a couple of options within walking distance of the festival site, if you are up for a wander

Yew Tree Farm Campsite, Wetton

  • £15 per tent, per night, inclusive of up to 6 people

  • Toilets, no showers

  • Close to festival site (25 min walk)

  • Note that there are other campsites called Yew Tree Farm in the Peak District - to be sure you are booking the right one, click here

Smithyfields Campsite

  • £25 per tent, per night, inclusive of 2 people. Extra adult £10 per person, per night

  • Tents, campervans, glamping options and electric hook ups available

  • Closest campsite to festival site (20 mins walk away), good shower and toilet facilities

  • Toilets, washing up facilities, but no showers. Lovely site near river, close to Thor's Cave. Cafe nearby.

  • Prices vary depending on how many people are camping, but for example: £28 per medium tent, per night, inclusive of 2 people or £40 per medium tent, per night, inclusive of 4 people

  • 35 mins walk from Barracks Farm if using shuttle bus, or 6 min drive to festival parking

Upper Hurst Farm Campsite

Public Transport

 

The Watts Russell Arms is in a beautiful, isolated location (you really will be lost

  in the hills). We have organised some public transport options for you (see below).

Travelling from the South, East, Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield or Birmingham:

ASHBOURNE 

Moorlands Connect bus is an advance-booking-only service that can take you from Ashbourne or Buxton. There are limited spaces and you MUST BOOK IN ADVANCE here (minimum 48 hours). You can book up to one month ahead.

 

 

MATLOCK BATH & WIRKSWORTH

Derbyshire Connect - this is a booking only service. YOU MUST BOOK IN ADVANCE (minimum 48 hours). You can book up to one month ahead. Please ring 01335300670 to book a journey. This service will take you to Alstonefield, a 10 minute walk from the Watts Russell Arms, the Lost in the Hills festival site.

Travelling from the North, Manchester or Liverpool

 

BUXTON

Moorlands Connect bus is an advance-booking-only service that can take you from Buxton. There are limited spaces and you MUST BOOK IN ADVANCE here (minimum 48 hours). You can book up to one month ahead.

Travelling from the West, Stoke or Staffordshire

Car Sharing

We would encourage you to car share where possible. If you’re driving to the festival, please try and fill your car. If you get a lift please chip in for fuel and running costs! Check out our Facebook group to link up with car-sharing.

Cycling

If you cycle to the festival we'll give you two drinks vouchers or a meal voucher. Just email us at creativepeaksart@gmail.com to let us know and then share a photo, video or some words about your journey on social media (and tag us in the post).

Lost in the Hills: Bike, Barn, Festival Tour

There is no parking on site at the festival, but there are a few allocated parking areas within a short walk of the site, see locations below

IMPORTANT - Please don't park on the verges. It is essential that visitors, artists, crew and anyone involved in the festival does not park anywhere other than the allocated parking below, unless pre-arranged

Our main car park is at Alstonefield Cricket Club, about 10 mins walk from the festival site

ROAD CLOSURE
The road between Milldale and the Watts Russell Arms (it doesn’t have a name) will be closed for the festival. To get to the festival or the campsite you MUST approach via Alstonefield or Ilam. Do not drive via Milldale.

DOGS
Dogs are welcome at the festival as long as they’re well behaved.

 

NO SHOPS
Please be aware that there are no shops in the vicinity, so make sure you have everything you need for the time you’re here.

NO WI-FI or PHONE SIGNAL

There is no Wi-Fi on site (and very limited phone signal). It will be a digital detox -a chance to clear your head and get away from the stresses of modern life. If you need to make an important call or text you can usually get a signal if you walk up one of the surrounding hills! In an emergency contact our festival staff.
